THE OPPORTUNITY

The Michelin Sandy Springs facility has an immediate opening for a candidate wanting to work in a manufacturing environment for a top-rated employer in the Upstate. THE POSITION:

  • You will be part of a team of engineers and technicians responsible for day-to-day quality at the Michelin Sandy Spring facility – the largest rubber compounding site in the world.
  • After completing formal classroom and on the job training with the team, you will take charge of one of our production lines as process and quality expert. As such your responsibilities will include:
    • Troubleshooting process and quality issues.
    • Analyzing and optimizing the process for non-conform rate, stability, and throughput.
    • Identifying and correcting root causes for anomalies and recurring problems.
    • Using data to analyze trends and address issues proactively.
    • Addressing partner complains and concerns from Michelin tire plants.
    • Assessing customer impact of quality risks and leading actions to reduce them.
    • Verifying quality standards are applied and developing guidelines for operators.
    • Communicating with operators, maintenance and other engineers and leading cross-functional teams to address any day-to day issues as needed.
    • Making recommendations for process mechanical and electrical updates to the group that would help improve the process and product quality.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Seeking candidates with BS in engineering. Mechanical, Process or Chemical preferred.
  • The position is open to new College graduates. But Internships, Co-Ops or previous work experience in a manufacturing environment are a plus.
  • Effective problem-solving skills, with experience with troubleshooting and root cause analysis for systems and processes being a plus.
  • Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact in a professional manner with at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong teamwork, leadership, and organizational skills.
