Mission: The Automation Engineer Project Leader will be responsible for industrial investment projects with primary focus on conveyance, storage, and retrieval systems, provides the project approach and management needed to achieve the project objectives at the best performance/cost ratio, using the standards.
Responsibilities:
Travel requirements can be up to 30%. Typically provides support in USA, Canada, and Mexico with other international travel possibilities
Leads the pre-studies to define the most effective solutions
Manages the design or integration by respecting the best practices of its business (internal, external standards, quality system, capitalization, archiving) in collaboration with all the relevant professions
Pilots the realization, installation and commissioning
Carries out feasibility studies with challenged and validated specifications, the possible solutions are evaluated from the point of view of costs, deadlines, risks, functional choice criteria
Conducts integration studies in cooperation with other businesses
Managers the change requests according to the release process
Implements the quality system and the methods of his/her group (risk analyses, FMEA, design reviews, quality planning, etc.
Obtains validations and milestones after the phases of realization, installation, start-up and development of the equipment made in collaboration with related group of the industry
Supports prototype projects managed by the process development teams
Qualifications:
Travel requirements can be up to 30%. Typically provides support in USA, Canada, and Mexico with other international travel possibilities
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Minimum of 5 years as automation project leader or project support; Beginners with strong potential may be considered and would receive appropriate training
Experience with design of automated control systems consisting of: drives, servos, power distribution, electrical panels, safety designs, etc.
Experience with PLC programming standards & programming software, including Ladder Logic, and Structured Text. Specific experience with Rockwell is a plus
Experience with HMI configuration, programming and communication. Specific experience with Rockwell is a plus
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and resolve issues
Demonstrated ability to set and achieve goals with minimum supervision
Able to develop positive relationships with internal customers
Well organized and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Demonstrated solid teamwork and planning skills
Project management experience or team leadership experience is preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint, Teams)
