Accounting Manager

Job Description Summary

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join the team and take full ownership of our Financial Accounting team!

As the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for managing the R2R team, implementing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure fairly stated accounting results, timely monthly closing, and related financial audit and reporting.

Not only will you be able to bring your breadth of experience to partner with the R2R and Finance managers to drive toward continuous improvement of the business as it operates today, but you will also collaborate with the Region Finance Controller to pursue long-term strategic initiatives and projects.

Responsibilities:

Fairly stated financial accounting records:

  • Skilled at in-depth financial analysis and providing expert financial perspective and opinions.
  • Responds to inquiries from management, US and Canada, and Central Headquarters (France) regarding financial results, special reporting requests, and the like.
  • Supports communication with Business and Controlling for financial activities.
  • Collaborates with the other finance departments to support overall financial activities.
  • Responsible for understanding internal controls over the company’s accounting and financial procedures.
  • Direct the application of transforming IFRS/GAAP rules into local process are defined, validated, and updated following regulatory modifications and company activities evolutions.

Closing monthly of the financial accounting books:

  • Lead closing meetings for the region and central headquarters (France)
  • Ensure an accurate and timely monthly closing
  • Ensure the timely reporting of monthly financial information.
  • Provide guidance for consistent Financial Statement presentation across all AMN.

Financial external audits:

  • Lead the effort with Michelin’s external Auditors to ensure a clean and timely mid-year review and year end audit.
  • Ensuring the accounts and financial statement are certified by the legal auditors.

People Management

  • Manage the R2R team members
  • Work with each member to establish development action during each year and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff.

The Successful Applicant

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent finance degree

CPA preferred.

Shared services experience is a plus!

8+ years of experience in accounting.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

ERP systems experience preferred – Oracle, JD Edwards, SAP, Concur, etc.
